Finding the right extracurricular for your homeschooled child can be a challenge, especially when you have multiple children with diverse interests. Our Homeschool Music Program is designed to make music education accessible and enjoyable for the whole family, helping each child discover the instrument they truly connect with.
How Our Program Works
Our classes are organized into four musical tracks: Band, Choir, Strings, and STOMP. Each track is designed to build skills from one class to the next, giving students a clear path from their first musical experiences into more advanced ensembles.
Choosing a Starting Point: Recommended ages are provided as a guide, but age isn't the only factor in class placement. As students progress, musical ability, experience, and teacher recommendation may also determine when they're ready for the next class.
Band Track
For students interested in woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments.
Recorder (Ages 6–8) → Recorder (Ages 8–10) → Beginning Band (Ages 10+) → Band Technique → Concert Band → Jazz Band
Twinkle Violin (Ages 6–8) → Beginning Violin (Ages 9–12 or 12+) → Intro to Chamber (Ages 11+) → Chamber

Band Track

- Recorder: Introduces beginning music theory, ear training, rhythm, music reading, and basic instrument technique.
- Beginning Band: Students explore and begin developing skills on woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments while learning the fundamentals of playing together.
- Band Technique: Builds on Beginning Band by diving deeper into instrument technique, scales, musicality, music reading, and learning how to lock in as an ensemble.
- Concert Band: Our advanced large ensemble brings woodwind, brass, and percussion students together to explore the full spectrum of the symphonic band sound.
- Jazz Band: Students ready for an additional advanced challenge explore both timeless and modern jazz charts while developing style, rhythm, improvisation, and ensemble skills.
Twinkle Violin (Ages 6–8) → Beginning Violin (Ages 9–12 or 12+) → Intro to Chamber (Ages 11+) → Chamber
- Twinkle Violin: A playful introduction to violin that develops beginning technique, rhythm, ear training, and musicality.
- Beginning Violin: Builds foundational violin skills through technique, music reading, ear training, and ensemble preparation. Separate age groups allow students to begin alongside peers at a similar stage.
- Intro to Chamber: Students begin applying their individual string skills in an ensemble setting while learning to play music for violin, viola, and cello.
- Chamber: Our advanced strings ensemble brings violin, viola, cello, and double bass students together to tackle more challenging repertoire and develop strong ensemble musicianship.
Choir Track
Elementary Choir (Ages 6–12) → Secondary Choir (Ages 12+)
STOMP Track
Intro to STOMP (Ages 9–12) → STOMP (Ages 12+, Audition Required)
Ages 12+ | Intermediate Musical Knowledge Required
Worship is an additional ensemble opportunity rather than a progression track. Students learn to make music as part of a contemporary worship ensemble, developing skills in collaboration, musical leadership, listening, and performing as a group.
Throughout each track, students learn through a dynamic combination of hands-on music making, music games, method materials, ensemble experiences, and at-home resources designed to reinforce their skills and develop a strong musical ear.
Elementary Choir (Ages 6–12) → Secondary Choir (Ages 12+)
- Elementary Choir: Builds a strong vocal foundation through ear training, rhythm, healthy singing techniques, musicality, and ensemble singing.
- Secondary Choir: Students continue developing their voices while exploring more advanced repertoire, multi-part harmony, and the skills needed to create a unified ensemble sound.
STOMP Track
Intro to STOMP (Ages 9–12) → STOMP (Ages 12+, Audition Required)
- Intro to STOMP: Introduces students to rhythm, coordination, percussion technique, listening, and playing together as an ensemble.
- STOMP: Our advanced percussion ensemble challenges students with more complex rhythms, techniques, and high-energy performances. Students must audition before entering STOMP.
Ages 12+ | Intermediate Musical Knowledge Required
Worship is an additional ensemble opportunity rather than a progression track. Students learn to make music as part of a contemporary worship ensemble, developing skills in collaboration, musical leadership, listening, and performing as a group.
